Serina is a very old town and its age makes it a little treasure full of art and history. At the end of the Middle Age Serina was a very important place for Republic of Venice: a strategical stop-over in commercial routes from and to Europe. Vicario's house and our old fountain (one of our town symbols) are just two examples of what time has left us from that period. Serina is also a place of art: Jacopo Palma Nigretti bore here around 1480 and he became famous as "Palma il Vecchio". His works are now exposed in the most important museums throughout the world, Louvre, National Gallery, Ermitage... But Serina still keeps some of his masterpieces: our churches are enhanced by his wonderful colors.
